Hellenic Tao offers quality weekend retreats in nature combined with agrotourism, mild mountain trekking and healing bodywork exercises from the taoist qigong tradition of the Far East.

As our destination for our January excursion we have chosen the warm guesthouse of 4 young people with a vision in life.

Antonis, Dimitris, Glykeria and Georgia are hosting their guests not as them being customers, but as them being friends, in order to fully share with them their talents as well as their passion for the beauty of the surrounding nature.

The village Ano Chora, at the entrance of which the guesthouse is located, is lying at an altidute of 1,100 meters on the slopes of Mt Syrta.

The well kept traditional houses of the village reveal the beautiful local architecture.

Ano Chora is surrounded by a forest of fir trees & chestnuts. For its beauty this mountain area is called: the ''Alps of Greece''.

Many trails through the forrest lead to nearby rivers, traditional stone bridges and areas with astonishing views.

One can enjoy the overwhelming view from the guesthouse by relaxing, drinking, chatting or playing games in front of one of the two! fireplaces of the its central gathering hall.

Services included:

In the price of 90 Euros p.p. are included: Saturday night stay in a double room with rich breakfast, WC, douche, central heating, balcony, TV & DVD for movies and a fireplace with wood to use for free (depending the room type) as well as all of the following activities:

• Saturday traditional dinner in the guesthouse, including appetizer, salat, main dish and dessert
• an about 4h long guided trekking tour (Sunday 10:00-14:00) in the surrounding nature, including 1/2h of breathing exercises

• A workshop on how to make your own liquor in the Greek traditional way!

Kids younger than 12 years old may not participate in the program and thus you should arrange for childcare. Excursion attendance fee for them is 50 Euros.

How to reach the guesthouse:

Participants have to provide their own transport.

From Athens:

1st route via Nafpaktos city: 275km
Athens - Korinthos - Nafpaktos - Ano Chora (route over the Rio-Antirio bridge)

2nd route via Lake of Mornos: 290km
Athens - Leivadia - Amfissa - Lake of Mornos - Limnitsa - Terpsithea - Ano Chora

If you choose the 2nd route, after Amfissa city head towards Lidoriki village, but at the Lake of Mornos and before reaching Lidoriki turn left towards Limnitsa village.

Fill in your car at Nafpaktos city before you start driving towards Ano Chora village. Although it is a good asphalt road you will find no more gas stations on the way.
