WEEKEND MOUNTAIN EXCURSION

with hiking and qigong exercise

at the farm of Kokkoros family

Hellenic Tao offers quality weekend retreats in nature combined with agrotourism, mild mountain trekking and healing bodywork exercises from the taoist qigong tradition of the Far East.

As our destination for our December excursion we have chosen the farm and guesthouse of the Kokkoros family in a 10-hectare agrotouristic complex full of chestnut and walnut trees.

Lying at an altidute of 1,000 meters on the slopes of Mt Taygetos in the southern Peloponnese and offering superb views of the mountain and the Laconian plain below, the stone-built guesthouse has 10 comfortable room, all with individual verandas.

A taverna with a fireplace on the ground floor serves dishes prepared with organic products from the estate.

2 overnight stays in a Double Room with rich breakfast, central heating, telephone, TV, wireless Internet, safe and hair dryer are included within the price of 130 Euros p.p. as well as all the activities, i.e.

• 3 hours of a sitting Qigong for bringing the spine back to a better condition (instructions in English too)
• 1 hour of breathing exercises against smoking, lung problems, or simply for detoxification (instructions in English too)
• a 3h long guided walking tour in the surrounding nature
• a Greek/English DVD including the seminar content taught
• plus the right to attend two of our classes in Athens to repeat what you have learned in the excursion seminar (instructions in English too)

Kids up to 12 years old may not participate in the program and thus you should arrange for childcare. Excursion attendance fee for them is 50 Euros.

Participants have to provide their own transport.

Faris is on a hilltop, 3,5 kilometers of the village of Goranoi and 30 kilometers from the town of Sparta.

Coming from Athens, after 11 kilometres from Sparta on the road to Gythion, turn right en route to Xerokambi. From the main square of Xerokambi there is a road that leads you to the village of Goranoi, 11 kilometres further away. 100 metres before reaching the main square of Goranoi, follow the sign to the Monastery of Gola and the Shelter.
3,5 kilometres further down on this road you will reach our guesthouse.
The road is asphalt and this makes driving on the mountain easier and safe.
